This article presents a timeline of key events in Wisconsin state history, beginning in 1634. A fur trading post is established at Green Bay in 1667. The British seize control of Wisconsin for much of the War of 1812. Wisconsin officially becomes a state in 1848. In 1918, Wisconsin begins numbering and classifying its roads, leading the nation to adopt a similar system.
