      Las fake news son un concepto cuya existencia documental data de la cultura grecolatina. A lo largo de la historia, los imperios, reinos y estados-nación han transmitido noticias o relatos de difícil demostración o directamente falsos. La Primera Guerra Mundial fue el primer conflicto bélico planetario que dio lugar a una guerra paralela de desinformación, bulos y noticias incompletas. El análisis histórico de estas noticias engañosas y la censura de los países participantes en este conflicto desarrollado por los investigadores académicos olvidan este periodo de extraordinario surgimiento y difusión de noticias falsas publicadas en los medios de comunicación. Este trabajo trata de otorgar la relevancia que merece este triste periodo reciente en el relato histórico de las fake news. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

      Fake news is a concept whose documented existence dates back to Greco-Latin culture. Throughout history, empires, kingdoms and nation-states have transmitted news or stories that are difficult to prove or outright false. The First World War was the first planetary war that gave rise to a parallel war of disinformation, hoaxes and incomplete news. The historical analysis of this misleading news and the censorship of the countries participating in this conflict developed by academic researchers neglects this period of extraordinary emergence and dissemination of false news published in the media. This paper attempts to give this sad recent period in the historical account of fake news the relevance it deserves. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
