    • Abstract:
"A través del Telón de Acero: Historia de las relaciones políticas entre España y la RDA (1973–1990)" by Xavier María Ramos Diez-Astrain explores the political and cultural relations between Spain and East Germany during the Cold War. The book highlights the exhibition "Ya es hora. Es ist Zeit" held in East Berlin in 1976, which showcased the works of Spanish and East German artists in support of change and democracy in Spain. The author argues that the German Democratic Republic (GDR) actively courted Spain's favor during the late 1970s and 1980s. The book draws on newly consulted East German archival materials and sheds light on the need to decenter the histories of the late Cold War from Western European perspectives.
