    • Abstract:
This article discusses a rare case of spontaneous dissection of the carotid artery (SDCA) in a patient with Raynaud's disease. The patient, a 58-year-old field workman, presented with transient visual dimness in the left eye. Further examination revealed carotid dissection and decreased blood flow in the stimulated hand compared to the nonstimulated hand, indicating Raynaud's phenomenon. The patient was treated with antiplatelet medication, and subsequent imaging showed spontaneous regression of the dissected artery. The article highlights the importance of considering SDCA in patients with Raynaud's disease who experience neurologic symptoms and suggests regular monitoring of carotid elastic properties to assess cerebrovascular risk.
