The article presents a report from the U.S. Government Accountability Office which recommends the Department of Veterans Affairs(VA) to improve its monitoring of severe maternal complications and mental health screenings. The report reviewed pregnancy-related deaths and deliveries among White and African American veterans, maternal morbidity, and performance of maternity care coordinators in conducting health screenings, obtaining and communicating health information from pregnant veterans.
