Brazilian Children’s and Young Adult Literature and HIV/Aids: a still little-told history. (English)

    • Abstract:
This work aims to present a historiographical overview of Brazilian children’s and young adult literature that deals with HIV/Aids, since these literary texts have been erased in different Brazilian theoretical-critical productions on the subject. To this end, it was developed a qualitative bibliographic and documentary research, with the aim of locating literary texts that were published in print. On this basis, it was found that fictional and prose texts on the subject predominate, with emphasis on books aimed at young people. Furthermore, it was found that the relationship between these literary systems and the school space is intrinsic, since many texts were produced within this context. In this sense, the research is based on the postulates of Bessa (1997, 2002), Moriconi (2020), Sousa (2015a, 2015b, 2016), Fonseca (2019, 2020, 2022), Elman (2012), Silveira and Silveira (2016, 2019), Lajolo and Zilberman (2007), Gross, Goldsmith and Carruth (2010), among others. • Abstract:
