- Abstract:
The article discusses the Festival of the Bear, which takes place in five villages in the Pyrenees Mountains of Andorra and France. The festival is part of Catalan culture and has been celebrated since medieval times. Participants dress up as bears, hunters, or barbers and engage in a mock bear hunt, where the bears are eventually "shaved" to reveal their human form. The festival also includes music, dancing, and traditional food and drink. It is considered an important cultural event and was added to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the United Nations. [Extracted from the article]
