- Abstract:
The article discusses the proposal to conserve the name Arundo multiplex (Bambusa multiplex) for a species of bamboo widely cultivated in Asia. The identity of Arundo multiplex has been questioned, with some authors preferring to use the name Bambusa glaucescens. However, Arundo multiplex is currently the more commonly used name. The article suggests conserving the name Arundo multiplex with a conserved type to maintain the current usage of the names. A specimen collected in Hué, Vietnam is proposed as the conserved type.
