Notes for a Critique of Neoliberalism from an Affective Perspective.

- Abstract:
- Abstract:
The text reflects on the neoliberal emptying of politics, depoliticizing life and quantifying reality. Neoliberalism exalts individual freedom, leading to an extreme individualism that threatens social fabric. Creative destruction shapes bodies and subjectivities, promoting competition and self-sacrifice. Neoliberal exteriority affects individuals, focusing them on their own freedom and blocking their capacity to act with others. The critique focuses on recovering sensitivity and desire to restore collective life, exploring the relationship between the saddened body and the neoliberal logic of accumulation and self-responsibility. It suggests that it can generate sad and discontented bodies --all within a Spinozist ontology. The article criticizes the cult of life in neoliberal society and how it marginalizes vulnerable bodies, advocating for embracing vulnerability and interdependence to overcome destructive logic and obsession with accumulation.
