- Abstract: While observing and filtering contemporary literature, literary critics in mass media today can't fancy themselves as influential as in the era of iconic critics. The relevance of their judgement is declining. As their observers more often deny the critic's independence, this not only refers to the legitimity of literary criteria, but more often to the sovereignty in managing media platforms and public response. Asking what is framing the perception of literary criticism in mass media today is all the more related to questioning the economic and systemic conditions, critics are working in. Which have been changing fundamentally in the past decade due to digitalisation. In the traditional mass media landscape, reviews had their place 'below the line' on physical newspaper pages. Now, they are to be found in ever changing feeds, competing with all kinds of other news. How can they hold their own? [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
