    • Abstract:
Italy has informed China that it intends to withdraw from the Belt and Road Initiative investment program, which it joined in 2019. Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani stated that the pact has not yielded the desired results and is no longer a priority for Italy. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has been working to diplomatically end the program, as Italy is the only Group of Seven country to participate. Italy's decision comes amid escalating tensions between the United States and China, as well as concerns about economic coercion and human rights. The Italian government plans to continue strengthening bilateral relations with China. [Extracted from the article]
