- Abstract:
The Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) experienced near-record ticket sales in the fiscal year ended June 30, 2023, thanks to its first full slate of performances since before COVID-19. Operating revenue rose 40% to $29.8 million, with ticket revenue reaching $22.1 million, the second-highest in the organization's history. However, the CSO incurred a $1.4 million operating deficit due to a 15% increase in operating expenses and the end of government pandemic aid. The organization remains optimistic about the future and hopes for continued growth in attendance. [Extracted from the article]
