      The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of extraction reagent (ethanol at a concentration of 30, 50 and 70%) on the biological properties of the extracts of agrimony (Agrimonia eupatoria L.). By monitoring the model organism VERO cells in real time using xCELLigence system (Real-Time Cell Analyser RTCA) for 48 hours, we observed cell adherence and proliferation, which showed a significant decrease with increasing concentration of all extracts monitored (P< 0.001). MTT metabolic activity assay was used as a second one. Lower concentrations of 125 and 250 µg.ml-1 caused an increase in the metabolic activity of the treated cells (P < 0.001), while the lowest metabolic activity was detected at the highest concentration of 1000 µg.ml-1. The concentration of the extractant influenced the properties of the prepared extracts. Lower concentrations caused an increase in proliferation and metabolic activity, while with increasing concentration, a more pronounced decrease in both proliferation and metabolic activity of the cells was noted. Thus, we recorded proliferative effects of agrimony at lower concentrations and cytotoxic activity with increasing concentration of the extract. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

      Cieľom štúdie bolo hodnotenie vplyvu extrakčného činidla (etanol v 30, 50 a 70 % koncentrácii) na biologické vlastnosti extraktov repíka lekárskeho (Agrimonia eupatoria L.). Monitorovaním modelového organizmu VERO buniek v reálnom čase pomocou xCELLigence systému (Real-Time Cell Analyser RTCA) počas 48 hodín sme sledovali adherenciu a proliferáciu buniek, ktorá prejavila signifikantný pokles so zvyšujúcou sa koncentráciou všetkých sledovaných extraktov (P < 0,001). Ako druhý bol použitý MTT test metabolickej aktivity buniek. Nižšie koncentrácie 125 a 250 µg.ml-1 spôsobili zvýšenie metabolickej aktivity ošetrovaných buniek (P < 0,001); zatiaľ čo najnižšia metabolická aktivita bola detegovaná pri najvyššej použitej koncentrácii 1000 µg.ml-1 etanolového extraktu. Koncentrácia extrakčného činidla ovplyvnila vlastnosti pripravených extraktov. Nižšie koncentrácie spôsobili nárast proliferácie a metabolickej aktivity, zatiaľ čo so stúpajúcou koncentráciou bol zaznamenaný výraznejší pokles proliferácie aj metabolickej aktivity buniek. Zaznamenali sme teda proliferatívne účinky repíka lekárskeho v nižších koncentráciách a cytotoxickú aktivitu so zvyšujúcou sa koncentráciou extraktu. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
