      The article discusses the implementation of futuristic warehouse technology in the manufacturing sector. The author notes that voice technology, advanced tracking and tracing capability or sophisticated warehouse management systems are no longer the exclusive remit of huge national retail distribution centres. Developments are being picked up by other organisations outside these early adopters from the retail supply chain. Away from voice technology, another growth area in logistics is the demand for value-added process activities, as manufacturers continue to try to drive down direct costs.
