- Abstract:
A recent study conducted by researchers at Guangzhou Medical University in China has reported 26 cases of eye injuries caused by cobra venom exposure. These cases accounted for 14.5% of patients treated for cobra injuries at a snakebite treatment center in Guangzhou. The most common symptoms included pain, blurred vision, lacrimation, photophobia, and foreign body sensation. Treatment involved rinsing the eyes with normal saline and administering prophylactic topical antibiotics, resulting in all patients being cured without long-term complications. The study was published in The American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. [Extracted from the article]
