- Abstract:
The article provides a report on the Extraordinary General Body Meeting (EGM) of Fellows/Members of the Geological Society of India held on September 23, 2023. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss and amend the rules regarding the election of Fellows. The existing rule limited the number of Fellows that could be elected to 20 per year, which prevented deserving candidates from being elected. The proposed amendment to revise the rules was unanimously approved by the attendees. The article also briefly mentions other topics discussed during the meeting, such as river rejuvenation and groundwater management. [Extracted from the article]
