      Artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as one of the premier approaches to handle major issue faced by humans including broader impact on sectors to achieve of the Sustainable Development Goals. Very recently, COVID-19has created not only a health crisis but also a socio-economic disaster, both of which are fundamental to sustainable development. Here, we have tried to critically analyze the options of applying artificial intelligence (AI) towards social sustainability and its implications on various social indicators, which will help in combating the spread of COVID 19.
