La pandemia y la experiencia reciente de confinamiento han intensificado la centralidad de los cuidados como herramienta indispensable para garantizar el bienestar de las personas. Pese a la hipermovilidad y la globalización, la crisis sanitaria ha acrecentado la importancia del arraigo al lugar, como espacio material para el desarrollo de las relaciones sociales. El objetivo del trabajo es estudiar la relevancia de lo local, del barrio, como manifestación territorializada, en el que los hogares, los vecinos y la comunidad organizan las rutinas en la gestión de la vida cotidiana. El trabajo se ha llevado a cabo a partir de un análisis cualitativo de más de 20 entrevistas en profundidad en dos barrios de la ciudad de Barcelona: Sant Antoni (Distrito Eixample) y Montbau (Distrito Horta-Guinardó). Los resultados ponen de manifiesto el refuerzo de la proximidad y la importancia de la escala barrial en la provisión de bienestar; el barrio se configura como el espacio donde se desarrolla el sentido de pertenencia; se conforman lealtades y se construye una identidad social compartida. El estallido de la COVID19 ha incrementado esta solidaridad barrial, afianzando anclajes. La densidad de las relaciones sociales, la propiedad de la vivienda y el nivel de satisfacción con los vínculos sociales y el barrio son los elementos que consolidan el arraigo. No obstante, este no está exento de grandes desafíos que se derivan de algunas dinámicas urbanas recientes que comportan fragmentación social y disolución de vínculos. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The COVID-19 pandemic and the recent experience of lockdown highlighted the centrality of care as an essential tool to guarantee people's well-being. Despite hypermobility and globalization, the health crisis increased attachment to place as a material space for the development of social relations. The purpose of this research is to study the relevance of the local neighborhood as a physical space in which households, residents and the community organize their daily rutines and provide care. It is based on a qualitative analysis of more than 20 in-depth interviews in two neighborhoods of the city of Barcelona: Sant Antoni (Eixample) and Montbau (Horta Guinardó). The results reveal the importance of proximity and the local neighbourhood for the provision of well-being. A sense of belonging to one's neighborhood is developed, this being the space around which loyalties are formed and a shared social identity is built. The outbreak of COVID19 strengthened such bonds with and anchorage to the local neighborhood. The intensity of social relationships, home ownership and the level of satisfaction with social ties are aspects that consolidate this association with one's neighborhood. However, these are not exempt from major challenges derived from recent changes to the urban fabric that have generated social fragmentation and the breaking of ties. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
