      Most constitutions of Arab countries (and Islamic ones in general) include provisions on the relationship of the Islamic religion to the state and the nature of its association with it, and the relationship of its provisions (or the provisions of Islamic law) to its legislation, and the expressions used in these constitutions differ to refer to this relationship. This has led to differing views on the effects of this in constitutional jurisprudence and judiciary. In order to reach a clear position on this, the meanings of these references in constitutional legislation and the position of constitutional jurisprudence and judiciary on them and their implications must be reviewed and clarified.
