The research emphasised the importance of tailoring the chemistry of non-ionic surfactant compatibilisers to match the characteristics of the polyols and polyol stream components effectively. The development of an HFO-stable amine catalyst, Jeffcat XTA-1094, offers a robust solution for rapid reactions in HFO-based spray foams and other rigid foams, with superior stability and performance compared with existing catalysts. Using certain amine blow catalysts under HFO conditions can lead to undesirable reactions, degrading polyol resins and blowing agents. A proprietary emulsification evaluation method was employed to refine the composition of the aromatic polyester polyol. [Extracted from the article]
