The article focuses on the history of the Woodlawn Mental Health Center in Chicago, Illinois, between 1964 to 1970. The author discusses an intervention program and research study conducted by the center at elementary schools in the Woodlawn neighborhood, which was predominantly African American, and how it impacted views about Black mental health.
