    • Abstract:
That is why we did not consider seeing what happened with non-obese women with DM2, whose percentage, moreover, was very small (9.9%): as is well known, obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2) are associated in a high percentage of patients, so finding a sufficient number of non-obese women with DM2 in a random population sample of postmenopausal women is very difficult. As for the treatment of DM2, all the patients in the study were treated with oral antidiabetics, and none with insulin. It is true that it would have been interesting to study the variables related to treatment, but, first, this was far from the objective of our study, and second, we do not believe that the number of patients with DM2 would have allowed us to obtain conclusive results in this regard.
