- Abstract:
One of these lab books from 1907 was recently discovered and has been republished in French under the title I Leçons de Marie Curie. i [11] Kept by the young student Isabelle Chavannes, it contains a step-by-step record of 10 physics lessons on such topics as pressure, mass, density, and the Archimedes principle. Colleague Dr. Jean Perrin described Curie as "the greatest lab director I have ever known."[14] Lab worker Moise Haissinsky, wrote, She was able to direct the huge institute and its numerous physical and chemical laboratories, aware of all that was going on in them, mindful of every detail of the work we were involved in. Many people extol Marie Sklodowska Curie as a two-time Nobel Prize winner. One of Curie's students, Hélène Emmanuel-Zavizziano, from Greece, said that "la patronne" (Dr. Curie) would stop by every two or three days to discuss the progress of her experiments.
