The Department of Chemical Fibre Engineering - 75.

This article traces the history of the organization of the first Department of Man-Made Fibers in Russia in 1929 in the Unified Chemical Engineering Institute at the N.E. Bauman Moscow Higher Technical School.This department was organized in 1929. The work of the department was subsequently transferred to the Military-Chemical Academy at the D.I. Mendeleev Moscow Chemical Engineering Institute, and from 1946 to the present, at the A.N. Kosygin MSTU. The period of formation of industrial processes for manufacture of polymeric materials was related to the development of natural macromolecular compounds, primarily cellulose.
