      The article profiles actress Amanda Peet. Amanda Peet is in need of a date. And she's dreading it. "The thing about dating is, I am not good at it," says the 33-year-old actress with a sigh, "and I don't know anyone who is." But she has been single since her romance with screenwriter David Benioff (Troy) ended several months ago. And single is not a happy state for Peet. With her mix of rowdy laughter, dramatic sighs and zany humor, Peet will surely make interesting blind date material. For now, however, she has to settle for her regular gig: getting the guy onscreen--this time Ashton Kutcher in the romantic comedy "A Lot Like Love." A native New Yorker, she moved to L.A. in the mid-'90s after studying American history at Columbia University.
