      The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has revised its estimate for global meat production in 2023 upwards. The production of beef, pork, and poultry is expected to increase by over 2.0 million tonnes or 0.8 percent to 277.9 million tonnes. The production of chicken meat is expected to increase significantly, while the production of pork in the main producing countries will only be 0.3 percent higher than the previous year. The EU is expected to see a decrease of 2.8 percent in pork production. Meat exports from the EU are projected to be 11 percent lower this year. [Extracted from the article]
