    • Abstract:
This article reports that a Norwegian study asserting that dyslexia can slow drivers' reaction times more than moderate drinking can has been slammed by the British Dyslexia Association. The research tested just 17 volunteers, six of whom were dyslexic, the report concluding that those with the reading and writing disorder took 30% longer than normal to react to traffic signs. The BDA has hit back, arguing that from a research perspective the sample taken was too small and that many dyslexics have excellent reaction times. Racing driver Jackie Stewart is just one person the BDA puts forward as an example of someone with dyslexia who has good reaction times.
