The authors share insight on the socioemotional and equity challenges resented by advances in technology, including artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, to children and schools. They point out disparities in digital skills, knowledge and access to technology and the lesser support to low-income students that result in lower academic achievement. They offer advice for school social workers and educators to address challenges with the emergence of AI language model in schools.
