- Abstract:
Microalgae are nutrient-rich and contain a variety of biologically active compounds that have anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, anti-bacterial, antiviral, anti-tumor, anti-hypertensive, regenerative, and neuroprotective properties. The project aimed to select the parameters of microalgae cultivation for maximum productivity of their biomass. It was determined that the maximum increase in biomass of the microalgae Chlorella vulgaris, Nostoc sp., and Pleurochrysis carterae is observed at 25 ± 1 °C, respectively: 1.58 ± 0.04 g/L, 0.93 ± 0.02 g/L, 0.70 ± 0.02 g/L. The highest biomass yield of Arthrospira platensis microalgae is observed at a cultivation temperature of 30 ± 1 °C, while Dunaliella salina microalgae exhibit their highest biomass yield at 20 ± 1 °C. It has been established that a cultivation period of 7–14 days results in the maximum biomass density of the microalgae Chlorella vulgaris, Arthrospira platensis, and Dunaliella salina. The ideal cultivation period for the microalgae Nostoc sp. was 14 days, and for Pleurochrysis carterae, it was 14– 21 days. It was found that the optimal stirring speed for cultivating Chlorella vulgaris and Arthrospira platensis microcells was 150 rpm. Cultivation of Pleurochrysis carterae, Dunaliella salina, and Nostoc sp. on an optimized nutrient medium at a suspension stirring speed of 100 rpm led to the maximum yield of microalgae biomass.
