    • Abstract:
In this sense, they propose that endocytosis pathway markers may serve as indicators of cancer progression, as well as possible sites for therapeutic intervention in prostate cancer. Graph In this sixth editorial of 2023, we will highlight two manuscripts incorporating detailed quantitative immunofluorescence signal analyses while investigating (1) the in situ expression of the endocytic proteins clathrin and caveolin-1 in normal and cancerous human prostate sections, and (2) the effect of three different antigen retrieval protocols on immunostaning for 5-methylcytosine and 5-hydroxymethylcytosine in nuclear DNA from paraffin-embedded tissue sections, fixed cell cultures, and chromosome spreads. Endocytosis and cancer Does the cellular process of endocytosis, a mechanism used by cells for the uptake of extracellular materials, play a role in cancer progression?. [Extracted from the article]
