One round-trip flight from Washington, D.C. to London for one person would have a carbon footprint equivalent to over five years of using our gas stove. More important, the more ambitious forms of gas stove bans also ban other gas appliances-dryers, hot water heaters, and furnaces. The idea is that when you replace gas with electric appliances, you can get zero-emission electricity from solar, wind, and other sources. [Extracted from the article]
