      In view of the limitation of cumbersome process, time-consuming and lagging detection of conventional activat⁃ ed sludge testing process, as well as the problems of poor movability of equipment, low precision and reliability of laser detection in the light deflection detection method, a rapid detection method for refractive index was studied. The polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) gel beads were placed in a simulated complete mixed aeration treatment system, and after they were fully loaded with microorganisms, the refractometer is used to detect refractive index which reflect the surface concentration gradient changes due to the exchange of external solutions and microbial metabolites after the beads reach a stable state. The three -month refractive index was detected to explore the correlation between its value and temperature, traditional sludge detection index SV30 and ATP concentration, effluent index and extracellular polymer concentration. The experimen⁃ tal results showed that the stable detection value of 7 significant digits (suffix is nD, indicating the refractive index at D=589 nm) can be obtained within 5 seconds by using the refractometer, which has the advantages of easy operation, high sensitivity and high accuracy. The refractive index of PVA-gel beads in the system fluctuates between 78 μnD and 190 μnD, which is positively correlated with the changes of COD and NH4 + -N removal rate, and can effectively predict the effluent quality. The refractive index was positively correlated with the changes of ATP concentration and temperature, and nega⁃ tively correlated with the changes of SV30, and the method is able to provide more information on changes in activated sludge properties while closely correlating with traditional detection methods. The proteins concentration in extracellular polymers fluctuated between 608.06 μg / mL and 734.5 μg / mL, and the polysaccharides concentration fluctuated between 0.207 5 mg/mL and 1.176 0 mg/mL, the refractive index was positively correlated with proteins, while it did not show some correlation with polysaccharides.       文章针对传统活性污泥性质检测法检测过程繁琐、检测结果滞后以及光偏转检测法中设备可移动性较差、激光检测精密度 不高、可靠性不强等问题,提出折射率快速检测法。将聚乙烯醇(PVA)凝胶小球投放于模拟完全混合曝气系统中,待其充分负载微生物 后,对其表面因外界溶液与微生物代谢产物交换产生的浓度梯度变化,借助折光仪进行持续3个月折射率检测,探究其值与温度、传统 污泥检测指标SV30与ATP浓度、出水指标及胞外聚合物浓度关联性。结果表明,采用折光仪可在5 s之内得到稳定检测值(后缀为nD, 表示在D=589 nm处的折射率),具有操作简便、灵敏度高、精度高等优点;系统中PVA小球折射率在78~190 μnD之间波动,与COD、 NH4 + -N去除率变化呈正相关,可有效预测出水水质;折射率与ATP浓度、温度的变化成正相关,与SV30的变化成负相关,该方法与传统 检测方法密切关联的同时,能够提供更多的活性污泥性质变化信息;胞外聚合物中蛋白质浓度在608.06~734.5 μg/mL之间波动,多糖浓 度在0.207 5~1.176 0 mg/mL之间波动,折射率与蛋白质呈正相关,而与多糖未呈现相关性。 [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
