- Abstract:
The article examines how library and information science programs are preparing the next generation of graduates. Topics include the increase in conflict faced by librarians around the work they have trained to do as the number of library and information science (LIS) degrees award rises, universal demand that can be made of LIS programs according to American Library Association (ALA) President Emily Drabinski, and focus of the LIS experience at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
