Child and adolescent psychiatry in the post-COVID era: lessons learned and consequences for the future.

An editorial is presented on the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry. Topics include the increase in mental health challenges among young individuals during the pandemic; the exploration of risk and protective factors for mental health outcomes with advancements in digitalized care and telemedicine; and need for flexible mental healthcare systems with adequate resources and the integration of new technologies for future crises.
