    • Abstract:
Our study shows that I L. crispatus i and I L. iners i are more frequently dominant in women with VL compared to I L. gasseri i or I L. jensenii i . Vaginal swabs were taken from the patients with VL and upon analysis were shown to have dominantly I L. crispatus i and I L. iners i in patients with VL condition. Several research studies demonstrated that I L. crispatus i , I L. gasseri i , I L. inners i , and I L. jensenii i are the most common cultivable I Lactobacillus i species inhabiting the vaginal environment [[5]]. The former research study shows a heavy presence of I L. crispatus i and I L. iners i in patients with bacterial vaginosis (BV) or VL and I L. gasseri i as well as I L. jensenii i results varied [[14]].
