The article discusses factors that education leaders need to acknowledge to achieve organizational change in schools. Topics explored include the tendency of institutions to resist change, the forces that influence legitimacy of change initiatives such as mental models, social pressure, and policy, and the team learning environments that change leaders need to create to address disruption of perceived social obligations that precede change.
