(Bloomberg) -- Chinese oil giant Sinopec has agreed to buy a 5% stake in a liquefied natural gas project in Qatar, Qatar Energy Chief Executive Officer Saad Al-Kaabi said at a ceremony in Doha on Wednesday. Sinopec joins ConocoPhillips, Shell Plc, TotalEnergies SE, Exxon Mobil Corp. and Eni SpA as an investor in the North Field East project, which will increase Qatar's LNG export capacity to 110 million tons a year from 77 million tons.
