    • Abstract:
The article explains how the Hamilton Center for Classical and Civic Education of the University of Florida became a political provocation following a proposal which argued that a university's mission was threatened by cancel culture and uniformity of opinion on campus. Topics discussed are the problems of Great Awokening and civic illiteracy, prospect of a classical education based on individual liberty and historical fact, the need for renewed commitment to civic disagreement and debate.
