    • Abstract:
The article focuses on William Blundell and his writing of the first standalone "A history of the Isle of Man." The article explores the evidence supporting Blundell's authorship of the history and identifies three aspects suggesting his authorship such as thematic affinities between the History and Blundell's copious notes and correspondence, Blundell's intimacy with the Stanley family Lords of Man since 1405, and the similarity of the History to his other writings.
