    • Abstract:
It would be appropriate to have a more balanced look at which autism therapies actually work to the advantage of the person in therapy, not just the perspectives of those who are looking in from the outside. I found it interesting to read "Rethinking Autism Therapy" [The Science of Health], Claudia Wallis's piece on how autism treatment is moving away from "fixing" the condition. It seems to ignore therapies such as relationship development intervention (RDI), which allows for more flexibility on the part of the autistic person and those around them while helping them understand more about how social and other situations work, rendering those situations less confusing.
