    • Abstract:
The method of using chromium coating for drag reduction of blunt bodies in hypersonic flow is numerically investigated using transient simulations. The focus is on the estimation of different time scales which are involved in the underlying physico-chemical processes. The results propose an appropriate timespan for the hypersonic test facilities to study such flow physics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
