SUMMER SCHOOL OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN THE FUNCTION OF TOURISM - AN EXAMPLE OF INTESIVE EDUCATION. (English)
- Abstract:
Intensive educations represent those types of education where materials that is education itself is enabled in the shorter time period compared to standard courses by the compressed format of education. Costs and time saved by intensive education, and which are significantly lower than formal forms of educations, encourage educational institution to offer this type of education. Apart from the stated, higher level of satisfaction of students, that is participants of these educations, represent main factor of motivation for implementation of such educational method in institutions of higher education. However, although satisfaction of students/participants represents an important indicator of benefits of such educations, there are few information indicating educational benefits for students compared to traditional methods. The aim of this study is to signify benefits of intensive education, on one side, compared to traditional education, on the other, all through example of organization of the Summer School of Sustainable Development in the Function of Tourism of the Faculty of Management Herceg Novi, which was co-founded, through the program of cofounding of implementation of educational programs (summer and winter schools for students and young professionals) in the areas of smart specialization of Montenegro by the Ministry of Science of Montenegro. Accordingly, comparation of traditional and intensive educations shows necessity of increasing application of intensive education combined with traditional for the purpose of improvement of learning outcomes of students, or participants. - Abstract:
