    • Abstract:
A reprint of the article "A Sound Design: How Hidden External Speakers Improve Pedestrian Safety" that originally appeared in "Dorman's Shop Press" is presented. It discusses the several options available to automakers in compliance with the Quiet Car standard in 2016, or FMVSS 14. 1 which require all cars sold after February 2021 to emit sound when going forward or backward over 20 miles per hour to ensure pedestrian safety.
