The History of the Present Time and the studies of religion in Brazil: a brief reflectionon the issue. (English)

This text see ksto establish a relation ship between studies on religion in Brazil and thesocalled History of the Present Time. It starts from some research in History and religion developed in the Post-Graduation where this relation shipseems to becon figured. From there, it discusses the characteristics and debates relevant to the History of the Present Time. Then, it moves onto a typology of the main historiographical currents of religion. Then, it performs a brief experiment of possible intersections bet ween the focus of the present time and the historiographies of religion. Finally, it concludes by resuming the aforementioned research and expanding the debate to the approaches of Protestantism/evangelicals, Afro-Brazilian Religions, new age spiritualities and the public presence of religions, where they can benefit from the dialogue with the Histor yof the Present Time. Este texto procura estabelecer uma relação entre os estudos sobre religião no Brasil e a chamada História do Tempo Presente. Ele parte de algumas pesquisas sobre História e religião desenvolvidas na Pós-Graduação, onde essa relação parece se configurar. A partir daí, discorre sobre as características e debates pertinentes à História do Tempo Presente. Depois, passa a uma tipologia das principais correntes historiográficas da religião. Em seguida, realiza um breve experimento de cruzamentos possíveis entre o enfoque do tempo presente e as historiografias da religião. Por fim, conclui retomando as pesquisas citadas e ampliando o debate para as abordagens do protestantismo/evangélicos, religiões afrobrasileiras, espiritualidades new age e presença pública das religiões, onde estas podem se beneficiar da interlocução com a História do Tempo Presente.
