- Abstract: Aristotle's Poetics is the oldest treatise we know about the theater. Although his object of study is the art of the poet, references to theatrical spectacle abound. The argumentation related to the stage environment is not found only in explicit references, but it is also possible to trace it in the developments linked to the elaboration of the tragic piece, based on the notion of scenic virtuality and the relationship of performative purpose that links the theatrical text with its representation. In this article we propose to analyze the use of examples from tragedies preserved complete in Poetics. Although these are generally used to refer to issues related to the correct composition of the plot, they can still be analyzed in relation to the performance. These examples are extremely enriching to understand how the philosopher conceived theatrical activity in its entirety. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
- Abstract: La Poética de Aristóteles es el tratado más antiguo que conocemos en relación al teatro. Si bien su objeto de estudio es el arte del poeta, abundan las referencias al espectáculo teatral. La argumentación relacionada con el ámbito escénico no se encuentra solo en referencias explícitas, sino que también es posible rastrearla en los desarrollos vinculados con la elaboración de la pieza trágica, a partir de la noción de virtualidad escénica y de la relación de finalidad performativa que vincula el texto teatral con su representación. En el presente artículo proponemos analizar la utilización de los ejemplos provenientes de tragedias conservadas completas en la Poética. Si bien éstos son utilizados generalmente para referir cuestiones relacionadas con la correcta composición de la trama, de todos modos pueden ser analizados en relación con el espectáculo, a partir de las nociones de virtualidad escénica y finalidad performativa que identificamos a lo largo del tratado. Dichos ejemplos resultan sumamente enriquecedores para comprender cómo el filósofo concebía la actividad teatral en su totalidad. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
