The article presents information on the biographical method in the study of gender structure of everyday life. The article is concerned with the gender structure of everyday life; for gender being one of the constitutive structures on the level of everyday practice as well as on the level of imageries. It is well known that biographical and autobiographical approaches have entirely different status in feminism and women's studies compared to their status within the social sciences' research. When the (autho)biographical approach appeared in feminism and women's studies in the seventies, it had mostly political and therapeutic functions. women's (autho)biographical discourse was settled in between the literary fiction and theoretical interpretation.
