Sixty years of the School of History of the Universidad de Oriente: necessary historiographic balance.

The article assesses the historiographical treatment offered to the School of History of the Universidad de Oriente, on the sixtieth anniversary of its creation. It is highlighted that despite the protagonism of history professors in the study of the trajectory of the Universidad de Oriente, research on the future of the School of History has not been prioritized, although there are general investigations on its existence and monographic studies on teachers who started and consolidated it. They are defined as priorities for a future history of the entity, the systematization of its stages in correspondence with the successive structures and study plans, the theorizing around the models and methods used in accordance with the historiographic trends spread, the prioritized research topics and the realization of the life stories of outstanding professors in the teaching of the profession, including those who did not bequeath a historiographical work. El artículo valora el tratamiento historiográfico ofrecido a la Escuela de Historia de la Universidad de Oriente, en el aniversario sesenta de su creación. Se destaca que a pesar del protagonismo de los profesores de historia en el estudio de la trayectoria de la Universidad de Oriente, no se ha priorizado la investigación acerca del devenir de la Escuela de Historia, aunque existen investigaciones generales sobre su existencia y estudios monográficos relativos a los docentes que la iniciaron y consolidaron. Se definen como prioridades para una futura historia de la entidad, la sistematización de sus etapas en correspondencia con las sucesivas estructuras y los planes de estudio, la teorización en torno a los modelos y métodos utilizados acorde con las tendencias historiográficas propaladas, los temas investigativos priorizados y la realización las historias de vidas de profesores destacados en la enseñanza de la profesión, incluyendo quienes no legaron una obra historiográfica.
