      The article focuses on initiatives by the Public Safety Wellness Unit (PSWU) of Irving, Texas to address mental health issues facing first responders and their families. Topics discussed include an increase in awareness of the mental health of first responders, barriers to promoting mental health among first responders, a peer support program developed by the Irving Police Department, and the objectives of the PSWU program services.
