- Abstract: The author reflects on significance of women's health, nutrition and well-being across the continuum of preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum for ensuring positive pregnancy outcomes and long-term outcomes for both mothers and their offspring. Topics discussed include global prevalence of maternal underweight and short stature in 2015, causes of maternal malnutrition, and important priority areas and knowledge gaps for improving women's nutrition.
