- Abstract:
The article reports on the increased calls to renew the expired 1994 Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act signed by U.S. President Bill Clinton, which bans civilian use of semi-automatic weapons and certain ammunition magazines, amid the rise of mass shootings in the U.S. Also discussed are the introduction of Bipartisan Safer Communities Act on gun control after the May 2022 shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, and the arguments of the opponents of the 1994 Act.
